House Tours by the Alvar Aalto Foundation
The House of Culture was completed in 1958, near the center of Helsinki. It was designed as a multi-purpose building for the Communist Party of Finland. In addition to the concert hall, the building was intended to house spaces for diverse cultural activities. Furnished with Aalto-designed furniture and lighting, the House of Culture, with its rich details, is protected by heritage conservation law. The 2013 renovation of the House of Culture was included as an exemplary project in Finland's Architecture Biennale.
Guided tours are available on request for groups year-round. Group bookings by agreement: riihitie@alvaraalto.fi
